message to cis allies: buying your trans friend lunch will do much more good for the trans community than debating transphobes who will not change their minds publicaly on social media and making all your trans followers see how much people hate them over and over again
if you base your trans allyship more on fighting with idiots than supporting and loving the trans community you may want to rethink things a little. bc i tend to get sick of when my cis friends want to talk more about how many people hate me than anything else about my transness.
hate to say it but the key to having things solved by big company customer service is you just gotta stretch the truth with them. or straight up lie. actually. was on the phone for 3 hours because they sent something to the wrong address and spoke to 10 different departments trying to figure out if anyone could go fucking get it and they’re like “uhhh but can you go get it” bitch I’m 8 hours away by car, I don’t live in the house where you sent it.
took a moment to think, called back and was just like. Hi. My package was stolen off the porch!!! Saw the cunt steal it myself!! Anyway can you please send new things to this other address for free since that’s your policy for stolen goods thank you~☆ ! and it was immediately solved.
actually my tags are too good not to include
follow me for more customer service tips and tricks
THIS is how it’s done!!!
I had to cancel our trash service because they sucked plus we found a company that was like…1/3 of the price. When I called I didn’t tell them that, though–I said we were “going to have to move back in with my folks for awhile due to some financial stuff.” They didn’t ask a single question and we were cancelled within 5 minutes.
It’s okay. Lie. As someone who worked in a call center, it’s SO MUCH EASIER if you just give us one of the pre-approved reasons for wanting to do something.
current wip of my embroidery project. this man will be finished soon.
@poisonousbobalina hehe yeah! this is my first embroidery project so its pretty rough but i designed the fish and im kind of just listening to my heart in terms of stitching.
heres the fish i painted that im using for reference :]
HES DONE.
Sure.
Red means stop. No more negotiation, something has crossed a line (too painful, something bad that wasn’t negotiated, etc.)
Yellow means that you need a break or that something is too much, or that if the top continues then you’re going to “red” soon.
Green means that things are going well and you want to continue if not ramp it up a little.
While a bottom might blurt out red or yellow, I’ve never seen a bottom volunteer “green”. It’s usually said in answer to when a top is checking in to make sure everything is okay. Asking “How are you?” and getting an answer of “fine” or “okay” might mean the bottom is just on autopilot and reflexively answering. Asking “What’s your color?” and getting “green” or “I was very close to yellow when you stopped” is much better.
One of my favorite doms to watch at parties was doing a pre-scene negotiation with someone he hadn’t played with before and said something like “Now, just between you and me here ;-) , my favorite color is yellow. It’s not about taking anything I can dish out. I promise you, I can always go harder. I want to know how you’re doing. I’ll likely yellow you, on purpose, a few times, just to find out where your limits are and then aim for a little below that. I don’t want to hear ‘green green green, green green red’ because then the scene’s over. I want some indication of how you’re doing and when you’re getting close to what you can handle, okay?”
And then, whenever she yellowed, he praised her. And why wouldn’t he?? She gave him vital information that allowed the both of them to have more fun!
Recently I have heard some discussions on also adding BLUE to this system for medical issues. It would function like RED but also in one word alert your partner you are having a medical issue, e.g. asthma attack, body cramps, low blood sugar, dizziness or some other sysmtom that is a problem for you. If you have already discussed medical issue with you partner, which you should do, blue might key them into something they can respond to with that knowledge to help rather than red and having to explain further.
Example: if I have asthma and communicate with my partner that it’s been bothing me recently and here is where my inhaler will be during a scene and I start having breathing issues and can’t stop coughing or catch my breathe to make out long or multiple words, I can say blue and they would know to get my inhaler. Or they would know to ask medical related questions in relation to stopping rather than thinking they pushed too hard.
I hadnt heard of the BLUE addition, but that’s great. Thanks for spreading the word about it.
From my experience what these people actually want is confirmation that their experiences were normal and correct and that it’s the world that has gone wrong. That’s why confronting them with the fact that actually how they were treated was literally abuse makes them so upset, they don’t want to acknowledge that they were (and often still are) victims of people and systems outside their control. They were raised with the mindset that to admit something hurt you was a weakness. They were raised to believe that suffering through hardship silently is a sign of good character and strength. They want to be praised for being so strong, not sympathised with for being so hurt, they just don’t know what to do with that massive shift in perspective
Also often it’s a behavior they’re perpetrating themselves so if they admit they were abused or neglected they also have to admit they’re now the abuser or neglecter and they’re definitely not going to do that.
Anyway that’s the story of how after years of hearing “If I had done that my father would have had his belt out!” from my mother - presumably to make herself look better since she only beat her children with her bare hands - I made a casual reference to my grandfather being abusive and my mother lost her shit.
This probably sounds obvious, but I learned today that prisoners aren’t protected by OSHA regulations, and that this is another reason why employers are so eager to utilize this modern slavery. It’s only a couple cents an hour, less transportation costs than the overseas sweatshops, and if you want people to work with hazardous materials without proper training? That’s fine too! Prison labor is the ultimate free market solution!
If you want to really change the world, prisoner rights and prison reform is the way to go. Removing the ability of the ruling class to effectively punish the population frees everyone to challenge them in meaningful ways. Arbitrary violence and incarceration is how they keep people scared and divided. There is no crime in our society that isn’t generated by our society. Even the worst ones you can think of.
Prisoner rights are human rights. Prison abolition is mass freedom.
so I think I figured out why the in-universe SPN fandom is almost entirely comprised of Sam girls. look at the list of titles of the Carver Edlund books published prior to 04.18:
apologies for the bad quality on the first screenshot, trying to get a good one before Sam starts scrolling was hardthere’s no Dead In The Water. no Something Wicked. no In My Time of Dying (I think we can reasonably assume that Salvation covers the events of both Salvation and Devil’s Trap all as one but they jump straight from that to Bloodlust). there are only three episodes from season 2 covered at all, and it seems to completely leave out John’s demon deal, and seemingly Dean’s as well. there’s no What Is And What Should Never Be. it completely skips past All Hell Breaks Loose and jumps straight from Heart right to Sin City.
no wonder there are no in-universe Dean girls: fans of the Supernatural books have barely even met Dean.
furthermore, we knew Chuck had left Sam’s blood drinking habits out of the books because he wanted him to appear more sympathetic to the audience, but based on this list, it seems like the entire demon blood plotline was left out entirely.
like, with the exception of Fresh Blood and maybe Mystery Spot, this is a list of books basically tailor-made to make Sam look as good as possible and place Dean firmly in the “funny but violent sidekick” role. this explains so much about the in-universe SPN fandom actually
asldfkjslkdfj god, Marie’s whole “sweet, brave, selfless Sam” thing is so hilarious in the context of the portions of canon she has access to.
like. she doesn’t even know about the demon blood. she doesn’t know why Dean went to Hell in the first place. the closest thing to an installment of the Carver Edlund books that maybe shows Sam in any kind of negative light is Jus in Bello. we don’t know which “episodes” actually got published of seasons 4-5, but it’s presumable that— given how much emphasis Chuck puts on wanting to make sure Sam stays sympathetic to the audience at all costs— those seasons were likewise edited down to portray Sam as sympathetically as possible.
I am once again saying it is totally unsurprising that all the in-universe fans we meet aside from one (1) gay guy (he gets it!!!!) are Sam girls; they are reading a completely different series from what the audience actually is made privy to
A whore is a whore is a whore
based on the smoking/drinking polls going around: how often do you have sex (defined as broadly or as specifically as you’d like)?
never
every few years
1-2 times a year
every few months
once a month
3-4 times a month
once a week
3-4 times a week
every day
N/A to me/results
stop saying “gen z brought back bush-era purity politics” i grew up in the bush era and even then people weren’t saying that you’re a sex addict for having boring marital sexual congress in the same house as your children. this is just plain unhinged
Literally almost every millennial I know has a memory of accidentally walking in on their parents or hearing their parents having sex. It’s fucking normal. Human beings have sex. Your parents fuck. Get over it. Being weird about it isn’t healthy.
I really loved Robert Evans’s response to this
supernatural IS incredible tv because it’s fun and entertaining and i like it and sometimes it makes me cry too and it’s a silly soap opera and a fantasy horror show and a sitcom and it ran for 15 seasons on a bankrupt network which is a pretty incredible feat in itself and it gave me dean winchester and thee angel castiel and they are in love and i’m in love with their love and i love them so much i made a whole blog abt it
i blog for like 5 people and 3 of them are me
